Chapter Philanthropy and Service

2024-2025

Hope Lodge

The American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge is a free place to stay during cancer treatment so that people with cancer can focus on getting better and not worry about driving into Cleveland and where to stay.  Hope Lodge provides comfortable guest suites with private baths and inviting spaces with all the comforts of home, including a communal kitchen, dinig area, laundry rooms and places to gather or find a quiet respite, all at no cost to guests.

There are 43 guest rooms in total.  Guests stay anywhere from 1 to 120 days, with the average length of stay being around 20 days.   Between 2 - 7 rooms turn over each day, so you can imagine the logistics needed to make for seamless transitions.

CLEeastZTA had a 4 week collection campaign on their behalf in the fall, kicked off at Founder's Day.  We distributed a large trunk full of kitchen, personal and cleaning supplies.  Plus, Holiday Candy to keep morale high!  We appreciate this philanthropic tie-in so much, that Hope Lodge is our statewide service project for Zeta Day 2025!

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY - Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk ...usually first Saturday in October 1

Join us to volunteer in the Survivor Tent.  We will distribute pink ribbons, hand out survivor sashes and other give-aways, and help survivors with a simple craft project.  All ZETAS are asked to wear a PINK ZTA shirt.  Contact Karen Erlenbach if interested in volunteering, Karen@Erlenbachs.com

CRUCIAL CATCH WITH THE CLEVELAND BROWNS - usually an October Sunday

Join us to volunteer outside the Browns Stadium prior to the Browns vs Ravens football game.  We will hand out Pink ribbons to ALL FANS! Meet at the ZTA Tent on Dawg Pound Drive.  Please wear a ZTA HAT or BUTTON since the Browns will be furnishing t-shirts that aren't branded ZTA.  Call Karen Erlenbach if interested in volunteering.karen@erlenbachs.com

Bras4aCause

"Bras4aCause" , a bra recycling project, sponsored by CLEeastZTA benefiting the American Cancer Society, was an amazing success.  We collected over 800 bras for the ACS & their Discovery Shops throughout the state.
